Arbeitskreis Freizeit und Tourismus des Deutschen Verbands für angewandte Geographie (DVAG)
Der Arbeitskreis Tourismus des Deutschen Verbandes für Angewandte Geographie e.V. (DVAG) wurde 1995 auf dem 50. Deutschen Geographentag in Potsdam gegründet. Primäres Ziel des Arbeitskreises ist die Wahrnehmung touristischer und freizeitbezogener Anliegen im DVAG unter angewandt-geographischen Fragestellungen. Des weiteren trägt das Gremium zur Intensivierung einer fachbezogenen öffentlichkeitsarbeit und Aktivierung fachlicher Interessen bei.
Der DVAG-Arbeitskreis widmet sich aktuellen freizeitbezogenen und touristischen Themen, die von gesellschaftlicher, politischer und wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung sind und sich mit angewandt-geographischen Inhalten auseinandersetzen.
Association for Tourism and Leisure Education (ATLAS)
The Association for Tourism and Leisure Education (ATLAS) was established in 1991 to develop transnational educational initiatives in tourism and leisure. ATLAS provides a forum to promote staff and student exchange, transnational research and to facilitate curriculum and professional development. ATLAS currently has members in more than 70 countries.
Leisure Study Association (LSA)
The LSA, established in 1975, provides a unique multi-disciplinary meeting and communication forum for researchers, practitioners and students involved in all areas of leisure studies and its many directly and indirectly related areas of interest
Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA)
Seeking to improve the travel and tourism industry through
education, publications and networking activities.
Facilitates access to numerous sources of information to support your research efforts.

Association Internationale d´Experts Scientifiques du Tourisme (AIEST)
International Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism
AIEST is an international scientific society. The Association endeavours to
– foster friendly relations among its members;
– to promote scientific activity on the part of its members, in particular by developing personal contacts, providing documentation and facilitating exchange of views and experience;
– to support the activity of scientific institutes of tourism, or other centres of research and education specializing in tourism, and to develop relations between them, as well as between them and the members of the Association;
– to organize and to cooperate in conferences and other meetings and courses on tourism of a scientific nature.
Therefore, AIEST may be considered as being the international catalyst of scientific activities in tourism. The Association does not itself directly engage in tourism research and education, but it endeavours to foster them as much as possible within the limits of its possibilities and those of existing institutions.
